The 2004 is a fine and concentrated wine with finesse. Warm blackberry and cherry flavours combine with a delightful fresh earthy character. It is reminiscent of the trophy winning 2002 vintage with its generous and full bodied structure together with fine silky tannins. The wine is fined with organic, free range egg whites and lightly filtered to retain lively fruit flavours and depth. Tartrate crystals may be present in bottle. Decanting is recommended.
“Dark flavours on impact has a dash of blackboy fruit and beetroot. Firm, mildly earthy, with a touch of spice. Mid palate is deep, close textured and weighty, with some herbal notes and sturdy tannic structure. Finishes long, slightly tough, but impressively persistent. Good wine, big and brave”.
