Pinot Noir 2001 - SOLD OUT


The grapes for this wine were hand picked from selected low yielding vineyards then traditionally fermented in open-top tanks and hand plunged. Ageing in French oak barriques for eleven months has nicely married the warm and elegant berry fruit flavours with the supple oak tannins

Sensory Notes

Colour: Deep garnet and ruby tones with good density

Aroma: Black plum, hints of cherry. Liquorice and spicy notes

Palate: Ripe and generous with fruit. A smooth texture and persistent complex finish

Fermentation: Whole berry in open top tanks and hand plunged

Maturation: 11 months maturation in French Oak barriques

Alcohol: 14%

Total acidity: 5.5g/l

Residual sugar: <1g/l

Harvest dates: 27th, 30th March, 2nd, 6th & 7th April of 2001

Bottling dates: 14th, 15th & 16th August 2002

Cellaring Potential

This wine is easy to enjoy on release. Maturity is expected between late 2004 to mid 2006.
