In keeping with the festive season, in this issue we have a Christmas six pack special, our newly released Pinot Noir 2002 and recent competition results and reviews.

In preparation for Christmas we are currently offering a six pack Elstree Cuvee 1998 special for people based in New Zealand. This special six-pack price is just $120 - a saving of NZ$60.

Acclaimed New Zealand wine writer Michael Cooper recently awarded this special wine 5 stars and described it as "potential classic and one of the most Champagne-like New Zealand sparklings - intense, tight-knit, rich and smooth, with citrusy, toasty, yeasty aromas".

Fellow wine writer and Master of Wine, Bob Campbell, recenly voted it within the Top Six sparkling wines in New Zealand magazine, Home and Entertainment. In the Gourmet Traveller it was awarded four stars and ranked in the New Zealand Top Twelve.

In New Zealand we have just released our Pinot Noir 2002 which won a Gold Medal at the Royal Hobart Wine Show 2003. More recently it won a Blue Gold at the Sydney Top 100 2005 and was among the top 5% of highest scoring wines out of 2000 from 78 countries. It has concentrated ripe primary fruits of blackberry, cherry and dark berry fruit.

The Sauvignon Blanc 2004 has just won Gold Medals at Air New Zealand Wine Awards 2004, First Taste Awards Christchurch Casino 2004 and Blue Gold at the Sydney Top 100 2005. Dan Berger, a wine judge in the United States described it as "exceptional, classic Marlborough aroma of gooseberry, lime blossom and citrus but with a depth you rarely get in such wines. Huge fruit in both nose and mouth, and an acidity that makes it essential to go with seafood".

For those that are fans of our Chardonnay 2001 and the Wairau Valley Merlot 1999, there are now only 10 cases of each left so get in quick if you want to enjoy the last few bottles.
